Barrett Lopez

Barrett Lopez is the Managing Director, General Counsel – Corporate and M&A at Hightower, responsible for overseeing the firm’s Legal Department. Mr. Lopez brings more than a decade of M&A and financial services regulatory experience and prides himself on delivering effective, business-oriented guidance to inform the decisions of Hightower’s executive team as they navigate various legal and regulatory challenges. Having previously served as Deputy General Counsel at Hightower, Mr. Lopez has guided the firm’s legal negotiations across all of its acquisitions since 2019. Prior to joining Hightower, Mr. Lopez was an attorney in the Financial Services practice at the global law firm of Winston & Strawn in Chicago. He started his legal career as a Corporate Transactional attorney in the Washington D.C. office of the international law firm McDermott Will & Emery. Mr. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
