Michael Wamp is a Managing Partner and Founder of Hightower LakeWater. With 27 years of experience specializing in portfolio management, equities, and fixed income trading, Mike co-founded Hightower LakeWater to provide high net-worth clients with sophisticated, holistic wealth management solutions and resources. Hightower LakeWater’s risk management approach derives from Mike’s capital markets experience and keen understanding of liquidity and valuation parameters. A research analyst by training, he leads our efforts in security and manager-selection, with a particular emphasis on risk control and alternative solutions to risk mitigation.

Mike also serves as a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at LakeWater Capital, LLC, an asset manager he co-founded based in Skaneateles, New York. Previously, he was a Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Talon Total Return Partners, a $300 million stressed credit hedge fund. He has also held positions in high-yield sales, trading, and research at UBS Warburg, Lehman Brothers, and BancBoston Robertson Stephens.

Mike earned his MBA in Finance and BA in Economics from the University of Rochester. An active member of the local community, Mike serves as a board member of the Community Foundation of Central New York and the Alive Foundation. He is also an adjunct professor in the Whitman School of Business at Syracuse University.
